“Tu amor y el fütbol” a song to celebrate the gathering of nations in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The song was recorded in Sao Paulo, Bogotá and Istanbul. It features “Sonhador e Peneira” (two extraordinary traditional street musicians from the northeast of Brasil), Rıfat Önsen on the trumpet and Daniel Cruz.

Last December I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Sonhador e Peneira, extraordinary street musicians from the north-east of Brazil. They perform daily around the Praça da Sé in Sao Paulo. The first time I heard of them was in the "Orquestra dos Músicos das Ruas de São Paulo" directed by Livio Tragtenberg. Then, I found them as part of the film “Saudade do Futuro”
Sonhador (Cicero Honorio Dos Santos) started working as a street sweeper and then he was solderer and motor electrician. Penherira (Manuel Elias Di Freites) started working as a builder.
I travelled to Brazil, explained the nature of Gypsyhood and their response was very encouraging. We recorded at Nimbus Studios, Sao Paulo. They where very open in the process of performing the song I wrote for this occasion. The song is called “Tu amor y el fútbol” (Your love and football)
Later, I travelled back to Colombia and recorded some guitars with Erwin Parra and after that I came back to Istanbul to record trumpet (thanks to maestro Rıfat Önsen). The song has some chanting in Portuguese and in German language. For that I thank Frank and Alice in Brazil (voices in Portuguese) and Pascal Miersch, Anni Wydany and Julia Perner in Istanbul (voices in German). I recorded vocals, synths, acoustic guitar and bass. Ah, and I did the mix and the rest of the stuff.
